Control VAT on the Event Management Fee per Quote

Until now, the Event Management Fee on a quote was always taxed at your default rate — even when every other line was out of scope for VAT — so there was no way to remove tax from the fee. You can now turn tax off for the fee on any individual quote with a single tick, whether you’re working on the quote’s costs page, on an accepted quote, or on the quote edit form. When it’s switched off, no VAT is charged on the fee and it won’t appear as a tax line on the quote total or the PDF. Existing quotes are unchanged, so nothing you’ve already sent is affected, and the same control is available through the API for teams that build their quotes automatically.

Apply Your Latest Terms to Duplicated Quotes

Many teams build new cost sheets by duplicating a previous quote or importing a template — but until now those copies kept the original quote’s terms & conditions, which meant your global default terms were effectively ignored. With this new setting switched on, duplicated and imported quotes pull their terms from your global quote settings instead, so every new quote starts from your current wording. It’s off by default, so nothing changes until you choose to turn it on, and it covers both duplicating within an event and copying to a new event.

Other Improvements

• Start and end times and resources on the Events report — The Events report now offers optional columns for each event’s start time, end time and the resources linked to it, so you can build a fuller picture of your schedule in a single report — on screen and in your CSV, Excel and PDF exports.
• Show quantity and duration separately on your documents — When you build a document template, you can now show quantity and duration as separate columns on cost lines. A cost of two items over five hours now reads clearly as “2” and “5 hours”, instead of being rolled up into a single combined figure — so your quotes, job sheets and other documents are easier for clients to read.
• Style the documents you generate with Custom CSS — Your Custom CSS now reliably applies to the documents you produce — in the editor, the on-screen preview and the finished PDFs alike — giving you a dependable way to tailor things like fonts and layout across every document your account generates.
• Filter the Date Difference dashboard widget by event type — The Date Difference widget now offers an Event Types filter, so you can focus it on just the kinds of events you want to track rather than every event at once.
